The village is 30 minutes by road from Lakeside Pokhara.
Why Ghachowk, Not Lakeside
Pokhara's Lakeside area is a tourist hub — restaurants, bars, shops, and constant activity. While excellent for visitors, it is not ideal for yoga retreats. The sounds of restaurants and tourists compete with meditation. The commercial atmosphere works against the contemplative space retreats require. Ghachowk offers what Lakeside cannot: genuine quiet, village rhythms, and an environment that supports deep practice.

Ghachowk is a living Nepali village, not a tourist creation. Residents farm terraced hillsides, tend animals, and follow traditional rhythms. Climate & Seasons
At 1,000 meters, Ghachowk enjoys mild temperatures year-round. Spring (March-May) brings warm days and cool evenings. Summer monsoon (June-September) transforms the landscape to vivid green. Autumn (October-November) offers the clearest mountain views. Winter (December-February) is cool and peaceful with stunning visibility.
Getting to Ghachowk
We arrange pickup from Pokhara Lakeside, airport, or bus station. The 30-minute drive ascends from the valley floor through farmland and forest.
